I am hoping that you have heard the loud disapproval of the change to the play selection screens and are planning to, at the very least, return them to the previous format.
If you are still looking to improve it, my suggestion would be to:
- group them by formation, mirroring the roster depth chart formations, not by "pass" or "run"....there is a strategy to running a variety/sequence of plays from the same/similar set that gets lost when the screen goes back to run or pass every time...I would rather think "I formation" first, then pick the play
- keep the offensive or defensive plays on one screen, with tabs for play names (like they were/are), but group into columns by formation....such as on defense, have "4-3" at top, then under, tabs for 4-3 man, 4-3 zone, 4-3 dog, etc.....the first thought should be, what formation/personnel do I want, then what do I want to do with it.
My comments are totally from a coach/player perspective, and have no clue on the programming/technology factors, so maybe they aren't practical for this game, but just my ideas.
